PIC Pain Keto Blog for 2018 0910

PAIN – no one wants pain, so why do we keep doing things that cause pain? Learn more in today’s "Your Keto Journey"© post.

While I was working on my other weekly blog entitled “Eradicate Emotional Pain Now!”© this week, I covered the subject of eating healthy.

PAIN comes in many forms. Pain can hurt your heart (think relationships that have gone awry).  Here is a helpful link for you:

PAIN can also happen in your finances (think debt, too-many-bills-and-not-enough-money).  Here is a helpful link for you:

PAIN also affects our bodies (think disease, mental acuity, aching joints caused by inflammation).

I cannot help but think about a verse that promises us good health. It goes like this:

Then God said, “I’ve given you every sort of seed-bearing plant on Earth and every kind of fruit-bearing tree, given them to you for food…”    Genesis 1:29 Message Bible

***Keep in mind that this was before food production had been industrialized by mankind.

When you think of food, think natural, unprocessed and untampered with foods.  Clean.  Fresh.   Not in a package containing who-knows-what chemicals and substances.

Try this with me.  Think back with me to a time in your grandparents or great-grandparents’ generation. This is a time when you might come home from school or work and smell something wonderful cooking in the kitchen that would make your mouth water.

Flavors from fresh cooked foods from the garden. You may have even felt the warmth in the room as you took off your jacket or work clothes.

Let’s keep going here.

As heaping ladles full of goodness were filling meal plates, the family would sit down together. Adults and children. Hearts grateful for the meal set before them. Everyone grabbed hands with the person next to him or her as a prayer of thanksgiving was uttered. Then with mouth-watering expectation, everyone dug in to eat!

There was a noticeable silence as everyone tasted delicious home-cooked food. After the food was devoured and appreciated, conversation took place. Each person present at the dinner table was given the opportunity to say what was on his or her mind. To tell about the events of the day from their own perspective. Everyone was made to feel important and loved.

What a feeling! What a time of togetherness. Respect being shown. Gladness felt. Appreciation given and shared.

Now, back to the HARSH REALITY of our day.

Some thoughts to ponder and imagine:

1. Everyone has the same 24 hours each day.

2. You pay for conveniences like done-for-you meals and fast food.

3. WE talk about balance between work and home-life, but how many changes are being made?

4. We work harder to get more, yet often we are too tired to enjoy what we already have.

5. WE take people and things for granted until one day they are gone.

IF YOU KNEW that days like Today will not go on forever, what changes would you make?

 A. How long would it take you to implement those changes?

PEOPLE WHO TALK TO (not at) one another, in a non-threatening, non-judgmental environment, build strong bonds with one another.

 B. What would you stop or start doing? If not right now…when?

PAIN RELIEVERS:

***Tell Someone that you love them Today.

***Do or give something UNEXPECTED to Someone Today.

***Buy one less thing or item for yourself Today.

***Eat FRESH AND CLEAN Today.
